We recommend to not use the Deer Reeler™ while hunting in a ground blind or any type of hunting from the ground. The Deer Reeler™ is only to be used in an elevated position such as in a tree stand, box stand, climbing stand, or tripod stand.
For your safety and for others, be aware of your surroundings and where other hunters could be. As always, please follow hunter safety guidelines. We have made the provided Deer Reeler™ carrying bag with safety blazing orange high visibility fabric. We do not recommend carrying the Deer Reeler™ without the original carrying bag so that it is not mistaken for an actual deer.
The tail is how deer communicate. The Deer Reeler™ comes with an imitation tail that works, but replacing it with a real deer tail would be optimal.
You can take a deer tail to a taxidermist to prepare the tail for you, but if you would like to do it for yourself, here are the instructions:
-Keep the tail attached to the deer.
-Simply skin it out by starting at the base of the tail. Start by cutting a little area about one inch.
- Sliding down with your thumb and forefinger, turn it inside out.
- Keep sliding down using both hands, one after the other until the hide is completely inside out.
- Scrape off any remaining flesh that remains.
- Now you can salt and dry out the tail.
First, check that you’re using fresh batteries in both the body and the remote.
Next, ensure that the switches on both the body and the remote are in the "on" position.
If these tips don't solve your issue, please email us at info@deerreelerdecoys.com (info@deerreelerdecoys.com)or fill out a contact form on the website.
